Biography:

Amy is a Glasgow-based Playwright, Theatre Maker, Actor and Director whose work experiments with form, often uses autobiographical elements, and always seeks to disrupt ways of seeing.

Recent theatre credits: The Haunting of Agnes Gilfrey, a gothic comedy thriller written for A Play, A Pie, & A Pint; Catafalque, a solo play commissioned by Scissor Kick for Summerhall’s 2024 Fringe programme, inspired by her real-life experience working as a funeral celebrant across Scotland. 

Past work as writer and lead artist: Shrill (Scissor Kick, Surge Festival); Blood Moon (Magnetic North, Manipulate Festival); Super Awesome World (Riotbox, Summerhall); 30:60:80 (Arches Live, Platform, Tron Theatre); I-HAPPY-I-GOOD (Arches Live, Surge), Karōshi (BUZZCUT), Update (Arches Live).

Previously she was awarded Summerhall’s Autopsy Award, Fire Exit’s Pyromania Award for The Warhol Assassin, has been longlisted for The Women’s Prize for Playwriting for Mountain, and received a bursary award from Playwrights’ Studio Scotland to develop The Implorer, a new play about sculptor Camille Claudel, in collaboration with The Burrell Collection.
