Yutong Zhang

musical director

Biography:

Yutong is a musical director, performer and composer based in London and Shanghai. She is a graduate of University College London with a BA in Linguistics, and the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland with an MA in Musical Direction.

She is the current musical director/Joan on the UK/International Tour of Six. Her recent work in London includes musical director on Why Am I So Single? (Workshop, Sadler's Wells) and the Andrew Lloyd Webber associate musical director to the Royal Central School of Speech and Drama.

Her work in China spans composing and producing credits. Recently her original musical The Butterfly on the Bund has become the first Chinese musical in history to be licensed abroad and played its first residential run in South Korea, as well as enjoying a long-running Chinese national tour.

She also works in licensing and producing, and most recently co-produced the Chinese transfer of You're a Good Man, Charlie Brown as well as the Chinese Language premiere of the musical Lizzie.
